If you’re a fan of the fantasy RPG “Final Fantasy” and you live in the surrounding New York City area, then you’ll be happy to know that “Distant Worlds music from Final Fantasy” is coming to the city in April.
There will be two shows, April 1st and April 2nd, both at 8 PM at the Howard Gilman Opera House in New York City. The show is 2.5 hours and will have Arnie Roth leading the “Distant Worlds Philharmonic and The Purchase College Chorus“. Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu will be in attendance as well.
Ticket sales have already begun and start at $65 for regular seating, but VIP tickets are $175 and include a meet/greet with Nobuo Uematsu and Arnie Roth after the concert.
VIP holders will get premium seating in Center Orchestra Rows D-M, post-show standing reception in BAM Attic Studio, and will have a chance to meet and take photos with Nobuo and Arnie.
For those not able to attend, you can purchase the DVD from Amazon.com on April 1st. Square Enix and AWR Music Productions are releasing the entire “DISTANT WORLDS music from FINAL FANTASY RETURNING HOME” Japan 2010 concert in a 2-disc DVD set, which will include new FFXIII and FFXIV songs.
Performances by the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra and Wagner Society Male and Female Choir will be included, and they were conducted by Arnie Roth, while all music was composed by Nobuo Uematsu and Masashi Hamauzu. Special guest vocalists are Susan Calloway and Frances Maya, with guest guitartist Meng-Feng Su and pianist Benyamin Nuss.
The concert was held back in November for two days at the Tokyo International Forum where more than 10,000 people were in attendance.
